Born in Umtata in the Transkei Zulu region of South Africa, Thulie Ellis came from very humble beginnings. A signature style of femininity, glamour and reminders of good times past was immediately apparent in her first collection.Having studied at Sydney's premier fashion school FBI, Thulie has gained experience in all facets of the fashion industry and is armed with a hunger for all things beautiful. When asked to collate her most recent collection into a simple phrase designer of the same name Thulie Ellis explains how her latest collection has been influenced by the muses in my life."This season I wanted to create a eclectic collection that would include high waisted shorts, feminine tailored suiting, resort style skirts pieced together with the classic boat neck while staying true to the quintessential glamorous dresses which start where last season ended".Thulie is a mix between amorous and edgy. Debuting at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, the collection is overflowing with luxurious pieces fashioned from ivory, black, electric pinks and purples infused with rich navy with just enough rough taffeta to give the collection the edge it so dearly deserves. Moments with My Muse tells a personal story of the Designer. "I like many, have a muse that inspires me. Each piece in this collection has undertones of my muse who continues to inspire me and pushes me to think outside my comfort zone in regards to designs, colors and fabrics". Thulie's current collection focuses on luxury fabrics including an over flowing amount of Dutchess silk, georgette, French lace, sequins, hand painted silks and just the right amount of razor sharp edges of metallic silver and taffeta that really make a women's wardrobe come to life.
